On Food production, the students will gain skills on respect to food processing, preservation, storage, quality assurance. In the Nutrition topics, the students will learn the nutritional implications of various food groups, how to apply nutrition principles to the selection of food, the nutrition requirements of various age-groups,and  how to encourage behaviors that will promote good health and reduce risk to illness caused by poor eating habits.

The skills gained under the food and nutrition course  will enable students to get formal employment or start  their own food businesses.
